Science Olympiad State Tournament
Field Trips, Workshops and Tours
On Friday, April 11, 2008, the University of Wisconsin will provide a variety of fieldtrips, workshops and tours for Science Olympiad teams that will be participating at the Wisconsin State Science Olympiad competition on Saturday, April 12, 2008. Many of these field trips/workshops/tours will relate to events in the Science Olympiad competition and should provide an enrichment opportunity for all those who participate.
Lodging opportunities for those teams wishing to stay overnight on Friday and/or Saturday can be found under Venue of the pull-down menu.
The scheduled start times for the 1-1/2 hour activity time blocks are 10:00, 1:00 and 3:00 with a one hour lunch break. It is important that you bring a bag lunch with you so that you do not have to stand in line to get food during lunch break which is only be about 1/2 hour if you don’t include hiking time between activities. The day will start in the Stock Pavilion at 9:30 AM. Students should be dropped off in front of the Stock Pavilion at 1675 Linden Drive.
Directions for middle school coaches:
Please examine the fieldtrip, workshop and tour descriptions for middle school students. Then use the registration page to register your students for selected activities. For each different activity you sign your students up for there must be an adult representing your school accompanying them. Signup for these activities is on a first come first serve basis, so sign up early. Also sign up everyone for two alternative activities on the registration form in case certain activities can not be scheduled.
Directions for high school coaches:
Please have your students (and all coaches and chaperones) examine the fieldtrip, workshop and tour descriptions for high school students. Then have them use the registration web page to register for selected activities. Signup for these activities is on a first come first serve basis, so sign up early. Also have everyone sign up for two alternative activities on the registration form in case certain activities can not be scheduled.
