Why Sponsor?

Many educational institutions, major corporations and government organizations sponsor Science Olympiad competitions as investments in America’s future – the science and technology literacy of America’s youth. We deeply appreciate the support we receive from the University of Wisconsin and other Wisconsin friends. The UW-Madison cost in 2008 for hosting the middle and high school state tournament is approximately $34,000, and UW-Madison will again host this tournament in 2010. The projected cost for hosting the National Tournament in 2011 is approximately $400,000. Any information on sponsors willing to support this or future year’s state competitions, as well as the 2011 national competition here at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, should be forwarded to Van Valaskey at vval@engr.wisc.edu or Gary Graper at graper@engr.wisc.edu.

If you have any questions about making a donation to Science Olympiad tournaments, don’t hesitate to contact us. Donations of any size are appreciated, but you may wish to donate at the following levels to qualify for special recognition in the competition program booklet:

  • Event Sponsor $2,000 to $4,999
  • Gold Medal Donor $1,000 to $1,999
  • Silver Medal Donor $500 to $999
